Large Scale Adaptation Of Brideshead Revisited Hits Brighton!

This week, Brighton’s Theatre Royal will be home to Bryony Lavery’s adaptation of Brideshead Revisited. Starting this Tuesday 7th June, the English Touring Theatre and York Theatre Royal presents the first ever large-scale stage adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s evocative and timeless story.

Based during the period of World War 2, the story finds Captain Charles Ryder confronting memories of this first youthful encounter with the Marchmain family at Brideshead Castle. The beloved story that has captured audiences imaginations for over 70 years, is directed by Olivier Award-winning director Damian Cruden. With the production in the trustful hands of not one but two acclaimed playwrights, this eternally adored story will certainly master the big stage on the 50th anniversary of Waugh’s death.
