Pinocchio’s sister restaurant, Donatello, auctioned prizes that money can’t buy at their ‘Dapper and Diamonds’ charity party on Tuesday 5 September, raising over £15, 000 in aid of the Argus Appeal, which is celebrating its 60th birthday and recently received the Queens Award for Voluntary Services.
The Argus Appeal raises money for people in need in the local community.
Guests at the dazzling event dug deep into their pockets to bid for afternoon tea with international bestselling author Peter James at his home in nearby Henfield as well as prizes like jewellery, holidays and beauty treatments. All prizes were donated by local Brighton businesses.
Said Sue Addis, owner of Donatello: “We have been bowled over by the generosity of friends, suppliers and business colleagues who have helped raise this fantastic amount at our special event. We have been working with The Argus Appeal for over 10 years and it’s a charity we feel very passionately about. We loved seeing everyone in their finery in the name of such a brilliant cause!”
The party also included a star-studded line up of guests including Brighton and Hove Albion FC new signings Jose Iquerido and Ezequiel Schelotto plus entertainment which included celebrity DJ Pat Sharp and all singing, all dancing comedy trio, The Sundaes and singer Dolly Rocket.
Donatello is a family business which has, for over 25 years, served delicious, affordable food using top quality ingredients. The chefs and restaurant team always aim to provide an enjoyable experience for diners with their Italian family atmosphere.
